Questions worth answering first.

What is a credit?
A unit of work. One question about one minute of video costs about 360 credits for a first look, and about 870 to read that minute in full with the screen text word for word. You choose which, on every call. Analyzing a 3-second window only ever costs 3 seconds' worth.
Does a credit cost the same on every plan?
No, and that is the reason to move up. A million credits is $31.67 on Creator, $26.00 on Pro and $21.80 on Studio — about 17 per cent cheaper at each step. A Studio seat is the lowest rate we sell. Buying the plan above is always better value than buying two of the plan below.
Can I pay per call instead of subscribing?
Yes, and it is cheaper per credit than any plan. The API is a flat $16.67 per million credits with no subscription: add funds and the balance is what you paid. A first look at a minute of video is about 0.6 cents. What a plan buys on top is the dashboard, the seats, the longer retention and the products built on it. An API key can be set to spend either pot.
Why is the API cheaper than a subscription?
Because a plan and a key buy different things. A plan buys the product: the dashboard, the team, ninety days of history, the SOP creator and the rest. A key buys the calls and nothing else, and it is priced against what you would otherwise assemble yourself out of a video model. Most vendors with an app and an API do the same.
What happens when I run out?
Calls return a clear error instead of a surprise invoice — we never bill overage you did not agree to. You can upgrade at any time and the new credits are available immediately. On the API there is automatic top-up, which buys more before the balance reaches zero.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Credits reset each billing period. If you regularly finish the month with a large surplus, the smaller plan is probably the right one.
Is a second look at the same video charged twice?
No. Results are content-addressed and cached, so re-reading a window you already paid for costs a fifth of the original.
How do team seats work?
Studio includes five people and one shared pool of 5 million credits. Each extra seat is $29 a month and adds 1,400,000 credits to that same pool. Up to 25 people; above that it is Enterprise. Everyone shares one set of API keys and one video history, so work is not siloed per person.
Is a seat cheaper than a separate account?
Yes, and the pool is the larger part of why. A seat is the lowest credit rate we sell, a little under Pro's. The difference that matters is that the credits are shared: one person's quiet week funds another's busy one, and two separate Pro accounts cannot lend each other a single credit.
Can transcription stay on our own machines?
Yes, on Enterprise. Transcription runs inside your own deployment instead of calling out to a third-party API, which is what customers under EU data rules need. See the operations guide for how that is deployed.
